The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Colorado River Station is actively seeking motivated volunteers to join our search and rescue team.

Search and rescue volunteers can be called upon to help someone in need.

The main mission is to search and rescue people on behalf of the Sheriff of San Bernardino County, California.

Additional assignments may include evidence searches and station and department leadership assignments.

*** Needs of search and rescue volunteers: ***

  • No felony convictions
  • No offense in progress criminal cases
  • Respect the tattoo policy
  • 18 or older
  • Legal resident of the United States
  • Has a high school diploma or GED
  • Has a valid driver’s license
  • Attend 3 business meetings in 5 months
  • Agree to attend and complete the department’s Basic Search and Rescue Academy within twelve months
