A reported wildfire in the back of Keystone prompted the Summit County Sheriff’s Department to issue a warning on Twitter and Facebook around 3:40 p.m. Saturday.

Summit County Sheriff Jamie Fitzsimmons said no structures are currently at risk from the fire, which is located where a controlled burn took place on Friday, May 7.



Fitzsimmons said the winds have reignited prescribed fires over the past week. The fire is currently confined to a few bundles of wood in the 15-acre prescribed burn area, which contains piles of wood ready to burn, Fitzsimmons said around 4 p.m.

The US Forest Service is on its way, officials said in a Facebook post at 3:36 p.m. Saturday.



Summit Fire & EMS, Summit County Sheriff’s Office, US Forest Service Department are all on site as of 4 p.m.
