Marshall County Sheriff Matt Hassel is offering citizens a firearms safety course in September.

July 1st, several Indiana law changes went into effect for the state. Sheriff Hassel said: “One of the major areas of change was around guns and the laws around carrying guns. The Marshall County Sheriff‘s Department strongly supports the citizens of this community and their rights as enshrined in the United States Constitution. The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department is taking the extra step of supporting the provision of education to the community.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s Department will host a gun safety course again this year on September 17e, at 9:00 a.m. The course will begin with classroom training covering safety concepts, legal issues, handling, storage, transport and shooting fundamentals. The class will then break for lunch and meet at a local shooting range to practice with certified instructors.
