The Guardian is the most dangerous mob in Minecraft 1.19 update. After its release, it became the most powerful mob in the entire game, more so than Wither and Ender Dragon. Although players should avoid this monster at all costs, it can be trapped if it starts to appear. This trick is extremely difficult to perform but can be performed if players are fast in the game.
The new Deep Dark Biome was long overdue, as it was announced in 2020 for the Caves and Cliffs update. Later, Mojang said that Deep Dark Biome and Warden were pushed back because they wanted to expand functionality. Now in Minecraft 1.19 update, the mob is much stronger than before, so much so that players should avoid summoning it in most cases. However, if they summon it, there is a trick to trap the beast.
Two ways to trap the guardian in Minecraft 1.19
Digging a two block long hole
When players venture into the new Deep Dark Biome, they should be extra careful because if they make a slight noise, the new sculk sensor and sculk screamer blocks will trigger. These blocks are able to summon the Guardian if the player makes more than three mistakes.
The new blind mob does not spawn naturally in the biome; therefore, it has a special animation when it emerges from the ground. This spawning animation is the key to trapping the beast. It lasts 6.7 seconds, during which the mob cannot attack the player, nor the player can attack the mob. However, players can smash the blocks that surround the mob, knocking it down a hole.
As the sculk howler blocks let out a loud screech for the third time, players should be ready to immediately obtain a pickaxe to dig a two-block hole where the guardian is about to spawn. While this is an extremely dangerous tactic to attempt to trap the beast, if done correctly the mob will be unable to move in and chase the player.
By building a three-block-high wool chamber
This tactic is the complete opposite of the previous one but is more effective. In this, instead of digging a hole to trap the beast, players can build a wool chamber all around the area where it spawns. The spawning animation is long enough for highly skilled players to quickly place blocks all around the beast before it fully emerges from the ground.
Wool blocks, in this tactic, are essential simply because they are blocks that will not cause any sonic vibration and will completely obstruct any vibration that attempts to pass through it.
Once done, the keeper won’t be able to hear the player or any other crowds since the wall is three blocks high. Players can even place a block on top to completely imprison the beast.
Although the mob disappears after one minute if no smell or sound vibration is detected, players can emit sounds at regular intervals so that the mob does not disappear. If a guardian is already nearby, howler blocks will not summon another one.
