Corrections Officer Vicky White helped murder suspect Casey Cole escape, according to Lauderdale County Sheriff Rick Singleton. Singleton joined Crime Stories today saying what is not known is whether Vicky White did it on purpose. Singleton pointed out that Vicky White broke several protocols to facilitate this escape.
Casey White, (no relation) who was serving a 75-year prison sentence for a multi-day string of violent crimes across multiple states in 2015, was also awaiting trial on capital murder charges. Friday – the day of the escape – was supposed to be Vicky White’s last day of work, as she had recently retired and sold her house.
A warrant for Vicky White’s arrest accusing her of aiding the escape has been issued. US Marshals offered a $5,000 reward offered for information leading to his arrest.
