Texas Game Wardens are currently accepting applications for summer internships statewide. The Texas Department of Parks and Wildlife encourages students from all backgrounds and fields of study to apply for 12 available openings.

Although an internship isn’t necessary to become an official Texas game warden, program coordinator Lt. Rachel Kellner noted that experience can be a helpful first step.

Application, eligibility criteria, specific locations, compensation, and additional information can be found on the TPWD website. This year, candidates can only apply for one position in one county. Angelina, Aransas, Bexar, Brown, Cameron, Dallas, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Potter, Nueces and Tom Green counties all have positions available.

The application deadline is March 31, 2022.
