MONDAY 28-02-22

  • Patrols conducted in 6 cities. Roadside checks were carried out for motor vehicle offenses with warnings and/or tickets issued.
  • Agency Assist – Middlebury – The Middlebury Police Department has arrested a person on an outstanding warrant and has contacted the Sheriff’s Department to transport the person to jail. The prisoner indicated that they had a family member who was able to post their bail, so the deputy took the family member’s bail and the person was released.
  • Community Outreach – Middlebury – Provided space for supervised visitation for Women Safe.

TUESDAY 03-01-22

  • Patrols conducted in 8 cities. Roadside checks were carried out for motor vehicle offenses with warnings and/or tickets issued.

  • Firearms Training – Middlebury – Prior to attending Level 2 Academy, 2 new recruits completed a basic firearms course with the Department’s Firearms Instructor to prepare for their next lesson.

WEDNESDAY 03-02-22

  • Patrols conducted in 5 cities. Roadside checks were carried out for motor vehicle offenses with warnings and/or tickets issued.
  • Transportation – Maine, Vermont – Maine police have arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant from Vermont. The deputies traveled to Maine and took custody of this person and brought him back to Vermont. The individual has been left in a correctional facility until he can appear before a judge.
  • Public Assist – Bristol – An MP recovered an item from a residence needed by a person who was not allowed to return to the house due to a court order.
  • Breach of Restraining Order – Ripton – A person reports a breach of a restraining order after someone tried to contact them after the court ordered them not to. The offender received a summons to appear before a judge the following day.

THURSDAY 03-03-22

  • Patrols conducted in 10 cities. Roadside checks were carried out for motor vehicle offenses with warnings and/or tickets issued.
  • Community Outreach – Middlebury – Provided space for supervised visitation for Women Safe.
  • Bad check – Salisbury – MPs took a report of several checks that bounced from an individual who was paying his rent. The matter is ongoing and under active investigation.

FRIDAY 03-04-22

  • Patrols conducted in 10 cities. Roadside checks were carried out for motor vehicle offenses with warnings and/or tickets issued.
  • Agency Assist – Bridport – Deputies responded to Route 125 for the report of a 2-car head-on crash with possible serious injury. Deputies helped Vermont State Police measure the crash and remained at the scene until cleared by troopers. The two operators involved were taken to hospital for evaluation.

MONDAY FRIDAY

  • Provided security at Mahady’s courthouse in Middlebury. This includes screening visitors as they enter the courthouse and providing security in the courtroom during hearings.
  • Several deputies served documents for the civil process.
